Grille installation instructions

  • Due to the age of these vehicles, additional adjustments may be  needed for proper alignment. Headlights, valances and other supports are  sometimes inconsistent and need slight adjustments. It is recommended that the grille and headlights are all test fitted before paint or powder coating is applied.

Install instructions 2004-2007

1.  Loosen the nut on the bottom adjusters so that you can hand adjust them  after you complete step

2. Remove the top two existing bolts located on  the vehicle where the new grille with attach. Place the grille for a  loose adjustment.  Adjust the 2 feet by hand until the bottom of the  grille is even with a small gap across. Close hood and make sure its not  too high or too low. Once correct, you can tighten the nut snug against  the adjuster. Now the adjustment feet are set and you can proceed to  installation. Remove the bottom bolt (10mm socket) in the center of the horizontal  valance or thin body panel under where the grille will be located. use  the long spacer and new bolt to install the bottom of the grille. Leave  it a bit loose. Use the washer under the head of the bolt or the bolt  may be too long.

3.  Using the existing bolts, install grille and reuse bolts that you  removed from step 1. The top two mounts will need about 2 washers behind  them on each side to space the grille out properly, maybe less or more  depending on your vehicle. The rubber seal should just cover the top  edge of the grille so you cannot see the welds. 4. Tighten the bottom center bolt and adjust in/out as needed.

Install instructions 80 series, including Lexus

1. Remove the horn bracket, relocate both horns side using existing bolts in reach of the wired horns.

2.  Loosen or remove the left side bolt on the horn bracket. Also, loosen  or remove the bolt on the right side where the new grille will mount.  Place grille for a test fit, check gaps around headlights, the grille  should not touch the headlights. The top mounts will need washers   behind them on both sides approx 2-3 washers on each side. This will  space the grille out to align properly with the headlights and hood. It  also needs washers in this location, as there is a slight lip on the   lower part of the panel and the grille mounts will not seat properly.  Once adjusted then tighten the bolts snug temporarily.

3. The bottom mount will need a hole drilled, about 1/4”, mark in the center of the opening and remove the grille.

4. Drill the hole and then install the grille, adjust as needed.
